Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.

Another beautiful day has been placed before us. The birds are singing. My coffee is piping hot, and my AC is pouring out Frigidaire quality cold.

Sunday’s sermon created some very curious points for my brain to analyze for my status as setting the proper example. I have made it clear to my bosses that they only ensure that my paycheck is delivered; that my true boss is God. That my goal every day is to be able to face Him when I look in the mirror of a night. That being said, our pastor told a story of a young lady who started a good paying job and within the first day or so, her boss told her to tell the person on the phone that he was not there. She calmly looked at her boss and stated, “If I lie for you…I will lie to you.”

When he was telling this story, I immediately thought of a boss whom I had told that I would not lie and then moments later he asked me to do just that because he did not want to talk to someone one the phone. My boss got completely confused when I stood there in his doorway with a dumbfounded look on my face as if to ask him without words, “What part of ‘I wont lie’ did you not understand?” In that instance he realized that I was not playing and that I actually meant that I would not lie. He earnestly did not understand what I was saying.

In today’s society we have become so acclimated to ‘little white lies’ that when someone says that they wont lie, the little ones don’t seem like they are really lies. This is how the enemy works. He takes something that does not seem very important, such as … telling a person on the phone that someone is not there … in that case no one is ‘being hurt’ so it is not that be of a deal. Though that little untruth may not ‘hurt’ anyone … it does … it hurts you and your walk.

Where no physical harm may have come to anyone, spiritual harm did. This is where the enemy uses these little times to eat at you in other circumstances using it as a stronghold. “You didn’t have a problem with lying before about … why is it a problem now?” The more times you succumb to that desire, the stronger the stronghold becomes. How do you become victorious… if you have already done this, repent and ask for forgiveness. Then stand on the Truth. Once you do that, then the Truth stands you up and those times become easier to overcome. The enemy will continue to try and use that trespass against you, but once you repent and are forgiven, that trespass has no power over you.

Obviously not to do it in the first place is the right thing to do, however, we all have those moments, and we all fall short. Do not get caught up in the short. Notice your error, repent of your error, and move forward with perseverance with a lesson learned and example to share. Remember, the enemy only has power over you if you allow him to. God will forgive you… all you need to do is ask.

Be blessed today my friends.
