16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
James 1:22
22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
James 2:26
26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
Just speaking or quoting Scriptures does not get the job done. A life of obedience has to be behind it.
