LOVE THY NEIGHBOR

The call to love thy neighbor
as you love yourself,
This is the higher calling,
Put politics on the shelf.

As you would have them do
Do good unto others,
For they are your sisters,
For they are your brothers.

Live out the golden rule
In these troubling times,
To be known by our love,
By love we are defined.

Greater love has none,
Jesus dying on the cross,
By this we have been saved,
While all of us were lost.

The great is love,
It's written in the Bible,
Love is the true mark,
of Jesus's disciples.
