Now, let's consider how to calm the storm. I believe these three points will help:
1. JESUS LIVES IN YOU
It's important that you know this revelation: 'Jesus now lives in and works through believers'. The One who spoke to the tempest and sea now lives inside you and me. This is the whole truth. All who are saved have His Spirit living inside of them. And because Jesus lives in us by the Holy Spirit, He can speak through us. We're His vessels, His channels and His voice. He flows through us; He is the word we speak. Yes, like John the Baptist, we're now the voice and He is the Word we speak. This was what John meant when he called himself "the voice of one crying in the wilderness." Jesus was the word He spoke.
2. BELIEVE YOU CAN
Faith is vital. Jesus rebuked His disciples for their little faith. To speak to the storm of your life, you must get your faith alive. You must believe that, with Jesus in you and His Spirit on you, you can do what Jesus did. "... and greater works shall you do than these." So, believe you can speak with your faith and see wonders happen; release a word of command and see miracle. Yes, that's faith in the heart: believing that when you speak to the storm, the storm will obey you. Believe you can rebuke the windy waves and the sea, and by so doing restore a great calm into your life, family and whatever situations. So, deal with your fear and spark up the flame by faith.
3. SPEAK - GIVE COMMAND
The scripture speaks about the spirit of faith: "...they believed and spoke, we also believe and so we speak." (2 Corinth. 4:13) The spirit of faith is released by spoken word. Learn how to release your faith by speaking a word of command. This is Jesus' way. He never plead with the storms - He commanded it to be still. Likewise, we're not to beg or dialogue with any storming situations. We're to silent them by speaking to them with unwavering faith and authority. This is the way to express our believer’s authority. Speak to tempestous situations. Command the windy waves to be still. There is mighty power in spoken word. Speak by the authority of the One who lives in you. All saved and Spirit-filled people have been made kings unto the Father. Kings are known for their words of power and authority. Your troubles and battles have ears to hear your voice of power. Speak to that windy waves and you will have your peace.
