I took yesterday off from any computer work whatsoever. I sat on the back porch with my husband for a couple of hours talking, drinking our coffee, and watching our dog play. After our entertainment in petville, we went to town and then to the kid’s place to deliver birthday presents. A beautiful drive to say the least.
Towards the end of the day we went for another drive and enjoyed the beauty that we were blessed with. As we were driving through this one little town, I noticed that all the yards were immaculate and pristine. At that moment, I was quickened to a thought…how many Christians are pristine on the outside or in the right environment, but … not so much on the inside.
When we returned home, I noticed that my yard is not pristine. There are areas that are well kept but then the back yard … not so much. I can tell you that the inside of my house is not pristine either. It is quite lived in.
Understand, that this is not a ‘housekeeping’ paper on how you live inside your home…but rather a housekeeping paper on how you live for God.
What is the example you are setting for the unsaved? Are you prim and proper on Sunday and all church functions yet are lying, cheating, and stealing in your business? Do you give extra in the tithing box/plate so you are not ‘obligated’ to help someone holding
a cardboard sign?
I examine myself hard in these areas. I have been known to stare straight ahead and not make eye contact with the person with the sign. I have been known to not be so nice at work. I have lost my temper and cussed like a drunken sailor in Russia.
What example are we setting?
I can tell you that the enemy is setting a fine trap of confusion. Last night…I watched a video of a biological woman being interviewed as a ‘trans-gay’ man. When asked to clarify what that meant…the individual explained that they were biologically a woman who has transitioned into man who likes men.
Let that sink in for a minute. THIS…This is what the enemy is doing. This is the nonsense that the he is promoting. And why shouldn’t the unsaved follow him…in this person’s opinion, it made perfect sense.
We have to set the example of truth. We have to set the example of knowledge. We have to pray for and impart the wisdom He gives us. We have to do so with Love.
This world is beyond a chaotic mess and the enemy is having a hay day. Yes, I know who wins in the end, but it is our job to plant the seeds of rescue into as many people as possible. So, you only have a $2 in cash on you because you use your card for everything…give the cardboard sign person the two dollars. Yes, the coworker really hit a nerve, and you want to explode…what purpose will that truly serve. Turn the cheek and walk away. Show love. Show kindness. Show forgiveness. Show grace and mercy. After all, He shows these things to us all the time.
