Good morning everyone. Grace and peace be with you.
As usual, I have fallen behind in my Sparkling Gem daily devotions. Fortunately, I am catching up rather quickly. Sometimes I prefer to listen this way, it makes me focus better. I know, I am weird.
One of the ones that I listened to yesterday … well two of them actually … spoke of helping the widows and orphans. As I listened my mind drifted to the current tragedy in Texas and some not so nice words that some have spoken because of their presumed political position.
Now, I am not going to discuss which party is right or wrong. This has nothing to do with politics … what I am going to speak on is where do YOU stand on right or wrong?
Political affiliation has nothing to do with this question. Your affiliation with Jesus has everything to do with this question.
The enemy uses every opportunity that arises to cause division, to stir rhetoric, to cloud the true importance, to cast blame, to smear lines … to create chaos. He is very good at what he does. There is no doubt.
Why was a Christian camp heavily hit by the floods and those children lost? What happened that meteorologist could not sound alarms to give people notice to evacuate sooner? Why would God ‘allow’ this to happen?
These are but a few of the questions that have been asked. The first two may never have an answer. The last one brings us back to widows and orphans.
Jesus said that there would be trials and tribulations throughout our lifetime. He showed that we needed to be here for each other. To hold each other up in times of need. To take on the burdens of others when they cannot. Then to cast our burdens onto Him and take on his.
The real issue here is that there are those in need of help, prayer, comfort, compassion and love. The blame game that is going on is Satan, himself, joining in mocking Christianity…by potentially using Christians to lean on their political views instead of their moral obligations.
We are the bible that most people read. When we fall, the fallen see no point, unless we admit our fault and repent. Then we show the fallen that we are not perfect and Jesus still loves us.
Will you join me today in praying for all those in Texas that were affected by this flooding…in any capacity and to pray for those who have seemingly lost the vision that He has illustrated for us in his Love.
Father, we come to you today and lift up the victims of the flood in Texas. We pray Father that the damages and devastation will work in the opposite direction as the enemy has planned and unity of love … Your Love … will prevail. We lift up those that have fallen into the political arena of blame and ask their eyes to be opened to Your Truth and Your Love. We pray Lord that we, as a body, will continue to rise up to the occasion to lend a hand, a shoulder, a body, a vehicle, or finances in the restoration of the area inflicted with this tragedy. May we as a body show that the power of Your Grace is superior to all that the enemy may attempt to dissuade those that do not believe or those who are struggling in their belief. Use Your church to comfort and hold close the victims and may they feel Your heartbeat as they recover. We stand in unity, as one body and pray in your son’s name … Amen.
Be blessed today my friends.
