I've heard plenty of people say things like, "Oh, I just love the stories in the Bible", as if they are comparing it to the stimulating thrill they might get from reading some secular novel or something.
First of all, the Bible says that what is written was written for our "learning", that we might find comfort and hope from the scriptures. It does NOT say that what was written was for our entertainment.
The Word of God isn't just some mere book. It is literally God Himself, revealed to us (John 1:1-3). The Word of God was not given to merely peak, or capture our interests, but to literally save our souls, and to glorify the Lord! Selah
