Hello! friends, I name this post as 'what if Saul had listened to Samuel?'

In our lives many a times we come across the situation where we question ourselves what we had listened to the advices or talks of the ones who cared for us!!

The other day when I was praying the same thought had hit me, what if Saul had listened to Samuel??

What if he wasn't hasty to give the oblations and go for battle?

What if he hadn't rushed to judging against David after his victory against Palestinians when the people were praising David with the song??

What if he had heard Samuel in not bringing anything from the town he had captured than bringing cattle, and other such items in the name of the LORD??

What if he had listened to Samuel when he told him that LORD is not with him any more and he needs to give away the Kingship of Israel??

Was all this allowed by GOD?

May be he would have still been in the Castle along with David eating at the king's table, may be David would have involved him in ruling the Israel, may be he would have been a great leader under David, there can be many ifs and buts.

One thing was clear David never wanted to take Saul's life by his own or his accomplices hands. May be Saul would have been remembered even now as a person who had foregone Kingship at the instance of GOD and be considered as one of the stalwarts of faith.

Or can we say he never had zeal for GOD? What is zeal for GOD? Is it doing the things that we want in the name of GOD, is it following our own passion in the name of GOD?

Then why does the scripture say that we give GOD a living sacrifice? What is a living sacrifice? Do we know?

Guys!! I would explore this topic in my next writing till then keep running your heads over it!!
