MONDAY, 14 JULY 2025 MONEY MONDAY DON’T BE SUPERSTITIOUS Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars’ Hill and said, “Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious - Acts 17:22 The apostle Paul, functioning by the Holy Ghost, could perceive in his spirit that the men of Athens were superstitious. This is possibly one of the greater contrasts between God’s people and the people of this world. They follow superstitious beliefs, but we’re led by the Holy Spirit. Superstition is not the leading of the Spirit. Many of God’s people, because of their unrenewed minds, are still bound by superstitious beliefs from their past. As a result, God can’t prosper them financially. They look to different sources for answers, other than the word of God. They believe in strange signs as confirmation of God’s hand upon their lives. There are those who believe that when their left or right palm begins to itch, it means they are about to receive a financial blessing. You can see them scratch their palm and even declare to others that money is on its way. I’ve never seen anyone with such superstitious beliefs well-off financially. Some believe that if their left eye twitches, it means something good is about to happen to them. That’s all just superstition. Often, people who have a background in the occult or idolatry have such strange manifestations in their bodies because of the demons that indwell them. Instead of realising that they’re under satanic bondage, they would rather attribute such unscriptural manifestations to God. God does not lead His people that way. Your prosperity is not in strange signs and manifestations. Your prosperity is in the word of God. Just as God saved you through His word, God also prospers you through His word. Just as you had to receive His word with your spirit for salvation to be yours, you’ll have to receive His word regarding finances for money to come your way. And when God wants to confirm something personal to you, He’ll do it by His Spirit. The Holy Spirit will bear witness with your spirit that the job you applied for is yours. He’ll bear witness with your spirit that the contract you applied for is coming. He’ll bear witness with your spirit that the promotion you’ve been waiting for is finally here. As the Spirit bears witness with your spirit, He will not violate the word of God. The Holy Spirit only fulfils God’s word in our lives. And when He speaks to us, He does so in line with God’s word. That’s why when someone comes to you with a brown envelope to bribe you, you just know it’s not a blessing from God, no matter how much your palm itches and your eye twitches. Your five physical senses are not reliable. They will lie to you. That’s why God has given us His Spirit and His word. We live by faith and not by sight or any other physical sense. We’re not moved by what we see, we’re not moved by what we hear, we’re not moved by how we feel. We’re moved only by what we believe, and we believe the word of God. Glory to God!
