THEME: EXCELLENCE OF SPEECH
TEXT: Ephesians 4 vs 29
Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
The bible here encourages us to speak the things that edify others and not to destroy them. Words are powerful they can build or destroy, encourage or discourage. Corrupt talk is saying things that demeans others,abusive language, worthless talk, hurtful speech, and many other such kind.
The words that come from your mouth must be those that build and not destroy others, they should mend the broken heart and not crush their Spirit. Your words must be inspired by the Holy Spirit and the word of God that is what it means when the scripture says your speech must be with grace and seasoned with salt. You can never build others with your words, except you speak from a heart of love.
What is comes out of your mouth is directly proportional to what is in your heart. This why you must fill your heart with love, the word of God and the Spirit of God. Anger, bitterness, malice and others of this kind, will not allow you to speak well of others or speak things that build others.
CONFESSION
I will not allow corrupt communication to come out of my mouth, only that which build and heals others in Jesus mighty AMEN
