IF YOU'LL TAKE THE TIME TO SEE.
God's blessings are around you,
If you'll take the time to see,
In simple things of routine life events,
That happen for you and me.
Do you awaken in the morning,
Or however your schedule shall convey,
Do you account that as an initial blessing,
As you begin the hours that mark your day?
If you've had a bite of food to eat,
Perhaps, even more than you really need,
Did not God provide for your subsistence,
When He brought your meal to feed?
Do you have clothing that you now can wear?
Maybe, an entire closet stuffed upon its rack,
Some things you haven't worn for years,
But you keep in case those fashions should come back.
Attire for every season,
Colors for every scheme,
Where did you get the wherewithal?
From God's provision, it would seem!
Depending on other people in your circle,
Some of which, you probably love,
You can't say nobody cares about you,
Because remember, God's above!
The job you are holding,
Or the investment on which you depend,
Or wherever you get your money,
And you hope will never end,
Do you think that anyone or anything that pays you,
Would exist if the economy should fall,
And would still provide the income you're receiving,
If God should release His hand from all?
Are you able to live in some kind of safety,
And you aren't threatened daily in your life?
Now, who put it into the hearts of men and women,
To devote their lives to keep yours from danger's strife?
There are so many things we take for granted,
That fill our lives each single day,
And we just expect that they will be there,
As we pass along our way.
And do we believe we've been neglected,
And think we've not a valid reason,
To offer God thanksgiving,
When He's been with us in every season?
We really have so much to be grateful for,
Lest we overlook these and other things that be,
God pours such grace upon us,
If we'll only take the time to see.
