Luke 4:18-19, Isaiah 60:1-3 CSB EMS
Luke 4:18-19 The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free the oppressed,
to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor.
Isaiah 49:6-9 he says, "It is not enough for you to be my servant raising up the tribes of Jacob and restoring the protected ones of Israel. I will also make you a light for the nations, to be my salvation to the ends of the earth."
This is what the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel, his Holy One says to one who is despised, to one abhorred by people, to a servant of rulers: "Kings will see, princes will stand up, and they will all bow down because of the LORD, who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel--and he has chosen you."
This is what the LORD says. I will answer you in a time of favor, and I will help you in the day of salvation. I will keep you, and I will appoint you to be a covenant for the people, to restore the land, to make them possess the desolate inheritances,
saying to the prisoners; Come out, and to those who are in darkness: Show yourselves. They will feed along the pathways, and their pastures will be on all the barren heights.
The Good Shepherd
Psalm 23:1-6 The LORD is my shepherd; I have what I need.
He lets me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside quiet waters/
He renews my life; he leads me along the right paths for his name's sake.
Even when I go through the darkest valley, I fear no danger, for you are with me, your rod and your staff--they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil, my cup overflows.
Only goodness and faithful love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD as long as I live.
Isaiah 49:23 Kings will be your guardians and their queens your nursing mothers. They will bow down to you with their faces to the ground and lick the dust at your feet. Then you will know that I am the LORD; those who put their hope in me will not be put to shame.
The LORD'S Glory in Zion
Isaiah 60:1-3 Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD shines over you.
For look, darkness will cover the earth, and total darkness the peoples; but the LORD will shine over you, and his glory will appear over you.
Nations will come to your light, and kings to your shining brightness.
Daniel 9:24 Seventy weeks are decreed about your people and your holy city--to bring the rebellion to an end, to put a stop to sin, to atone for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophesy, and to anoint the most holy place,
Malachi 4:2 But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings, and you will go out and playfully jump like calves from the stall.
Ephesians 5:14 for what makes everything visible is light. Therefore it is said: Get up, sleeper, and rise up from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.
