Deuteronomy28:1-8 "NOW It shall be, if you diligently listen to and obey the voice of the LORD your God, being careful to do all of his commandments which I am commanding you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth.
"All these blessings will come upon you and overtake you if you pay attention to the voice of the LORD your God.
"You will be blessed in the city, and you will be blessed in the field.
"The offspring of your body and the produce of your ground and the offspring of your animals, the offspring of your herd and the young of your flock will be blessed.
"Your basket and your kneading bowl will be blessed.
"You will be blessed when you come in and you will be blessed when you go out.
"The LORD will cause the enemies who rise up against you to be defeated before you; they will come out against you one way, but flee before you seven ways.
"The LORD will command the blessing upon you in your storehouses and in all that you undertake, and He will bless you in the land which the LORD your God gives you.
Psalm 40:6 Sacrifice and meal offering Yu do not desire, nor do You delight in them; You have opened my ears and given me the capacity to hear [and obey Your word]; Burnt offerings and sin offerings You do not require.

John 10:4-5 "When he has brought all his own sheep outside, he walks on ahead of them, and the sheep follow him because they know his voice and recognize his call.
"They will never follow a stranger, but will run away from him, because they do not know the voice of strangers."
John 10:27 "The sheep that are My own hear My voice and listen to Me; I know them, and they follow Me.
Romans 10:14-17 But how will people call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how will they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher (messenger)?
And how will they preach unless they are commissioned and sent [for that purpose]? just as it is written and forever remains written, "HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THOSE WHO BRING GOOD NEWS OF GOOD THINGS!"
But they did not all pay attention to the good news [of salvation]; for Isaiah says, "LORD, WHO HAS BELIEVED OUR REPORT?"
So faith comes from hearing [what is told], and what is heard comes by the [preaching of the] message concerning Christ.
James 1:22-25 But prove yourselves doers of the word [actively and continually obeying God's precepts], and not merely listeners [who hear the word but fail to internalize its meaning], deluding yourselves [by unsound reasoning contrary to the truth].
For if anyone only listens to the word without obeying it, he is like a man who looks very carefully at his natural face in a mirror;
for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he immediately forgets what he looked like.
But he who looks carefully into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and faithfully abides by it, not having become a [careless] listener who forgets but an active doer [who obeys], he will be blessed and favored by God in what he does [in his life of obedience].
