Opening Scriptures before the Message
Isaiah 55:11 HB Ancient Eastern Text So shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth; it shall not return to me void, but it shall do what I please and it shall accomplish that for which I sent it.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 All scripture written by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness;
So that God's people may become complete, thoroughly perfected for every hood work.
2 Peter 1:19-21 We have also a true word of prophesy; you do well when you look to it for guidance, as you look to the lamp that shines in a dark place until the dawn of day, when the sun will shine in your hearts,
Knowing this first, that not every prophetic writing is made clear in its own book.
For the prophesy did not come by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke when they were inspired by the Holy Spirit.
How to hear and understand the Gospel
Job 38:1-3 THEN the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
Who is this that gives counsel by words without knowledge?
God asks Job Questions
Gird up your loins now, like a valiant man; for I will question you, and you shall answer me.
Job 40:6-7 Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
Gird up your loins now like a man; I will question you, and you shall declare to me.
Job 42:4-7 Hear me, I pray thee, and I will speak; I will ask thee, and declare thou to me;
I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees thee.
Therefore, I will keep silent, and repent in dust and ashes.
And it came to pass, after the LORD had spoken these words to Job, the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against you, and against your two friends; for you have not spoken in my presence that which is right, as my servant Job has.
Romans 10:14-17 How then can they call on him in whom they have not believed? Or how can they believe in him whom they have never heard? Or how can they hear without a preacher?
Or how can they preach if they are sent forth? As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good tidings!
But all have not heard the preaching of the gospel. For Isaiah said, My Lord, who has believed the echoes of our voice?
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Acts 26:17-18 And I will deliver you from the Jewish people and from the other peoples to whom I send you,
To open their eyes, that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God and receive forgiveness of sins and a portion with the saints who are of the faith in me.
Romans 15:4-7 For whatever was written of old was written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to regard one another to be equally worthy through the example of Jesus Christ.
That you may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore be friendly and bear one another's burdens, just as Christ also brought you close to the glory of God.
