MIRACLE (27) By B.B.John

Let's examine the woman with the issue of blood, who got healed when she touched the hem of Christ's garment. For twelve years, she had battled with the disease. She bled for twelve years.

The Bible didn't tell us what caused the abnormal blood flow. We were not told whether it was a bleeding disorders resulting from a broken blood vessel [hemorrhage], or a collection of blood outside of a blood vessel [hematoma], or a ceaseless menstrual blood flow [menorrhagia], or a pure demonic attack on the woman. Whatever it was made her discharged blood for 12 years. That's a dreadful life threatening health challenge!

Here are the eight facts to know about this woman and her health challenge:

1. She fought for 12 years with the life threatening blood flows. We will face our own challenges in life and it will be good for us to learn how to be valiant fighters. (Matt. 9: 20, Mark 5: 25)

2. It was perhaps the longest and toughest battle of her life. Even for us, a long time battle in life will be fierce and life chocking. (Matt. 9: 20; Mk. 5: 25-26)

3. Before coming to Jesus, she had consulted with many physicians but all to no avail. Rather than being cured, her condition grew worse. Its a paradox of human efforts that fFlutility is earned when God isn't in the picture. (Mark 5: 26; Luke 8: 43)

4. Her steps to miracle began with hearing - someone came and told her about Jesus and the mighty works He was doing. Our pathway to miracle always begins with the hearing the word of God. (Mark 5: 27)

5. She believed the testimony she heard and, based on it, took a decision of faith. If we believe this same Jesus who did mighty works in the Bible can handle our own hard, stubborn cases, we will also get our needed miracles. (Matt. 9: 21, Mark 5: 28)

6. Going by her decision of faith, all she wanted to encounter wayJesus' hem of the garment. We need a resolve of faith, that just a little contact with the Word and the Spirit will bring our desired miracle. (Mark 5: 28; Luke 8: 44)

7. She acted on what she believed. Miracle comes when we act on what we believe. Faith still draws virtue out of Jesus for our healing. (Matt. 9: 20, Mark 5: 29, Luke 8: 44)

8. After the outflow of virtue out of Him, Jesus declared her whole. When we dare to act first, He dares to ratify. He still speaks wholeness to those who dare to believe and act. (Matt. 9: 22, Mark 5: 30 - 34; Luke 8: 45 – 48)

Main Texts
