This is Jabez' famous prayer in the Old Testament, ASKING GOD TO DO SOMETHING for him -
“Oh, that you would bless me and expand my territory! Please be with me in all that I do, and keep me from all trouble and pain!” (1 Chron.4:10)
As grace believers under this New Covenant, this is our prayer, THANKING GOD FOR WHAT HE HAS ALREADY DONE through the finished work of Jesus at the cross and His resurrection -
"We praise You Father because through Christ, You have blessed us with every spiritual blessing that heaven has to offer (Eph.1:3). If You did not withhold or spare Your own Son but gave Him up for us all, we are so much certain that You will also with Him freely and graciously give us all other things (Rom.8:32). The best (JESUS) truly ensured the rest (things You know we legitimately need). Thank You Lord that we will never be alone because You dwell in us (Jn.14:23; 1 Cor.3:16), always giving us the victory in Jesus (1 Cor.15:57). And as we continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus (2 Pet.3:18), our spirit, soul and body is prospering (3 Jn.1:2). AMEN"
