The Eternal City: Abraham's Pursuit of Christ July 21,2025 Hebrews 11:10, John 8:56, Hebrews 11:40 Abraham's Faith and Pursuit Abraham's life is a testament to faith and perseverance. He walked with God, believing in His promises, not just for earthly gain, but for eternal gain. Abraham sought a city with foundations, built and made by God Himself. This city is none other than Christ Jesus, the eternal foundation that will never fade or break. Christ, the Foundation Jesus affirmed that Abraham saw His day and was glad (John 8:56). Abraham, living before Christ, had a glimpse of the eternal foundation that is Christ. Christ was with God in the beginning, and all things were made by Him. As the eternal foundation, Christ is the center of all, and without Him, nothing can be made perfect. The Importance of Christ in Us The scripture tells us that many sought a city that would not perish, but they could not be made perfect without Christ (Hebrews 11:40). The question is, do you have Christ in you? Are you of Him? Take a moment to reflect on your relationship with Christ.
