*DEVOTIONAL COMPANION*

*THE LORDSHIP OF CHRIST (PART 1).*

Luke 22:25 (KJV)..... *And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors.*

The experience of 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV) stated by Paul the Apostle as ”Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” It is an experience of Jesus Christ being your saviour and not your Lord.

This experience is that which makes you a son or daughter, and he (Jesus) becomes your father, but it is totally different from him being your Lord. A lot of believers do not know Jesus as their Lord, i.e., they do not understand the Lordship of Christ over them.

This is the message we are called into; this is where disciples are formed; this is where we make students of men and send them to the nations to go make disciples of nations. This is the kind of message we preach, and people misunderstand us because they want to remain babes forever.

The word “Lordship over us” as used by our Lord Jesus in our theme scripture is from the Greek word “ *Kurieud* ”, and it means to rule over, to have dominion over, and to exercise Lordship over. This means that when we talk about the Lordship of Christ over an individual, we are talking about our Lord Jesus having the rule and dominion over your entire life. This means you don’t have a life. Where and what he asks you to do is what you will do.

With this knowledge, you can see that for the believer who understands lordship, tithing, seed sowing, fasting, praying, and dying to self is not an option. In the Lordship of Christ, he commands, and we obey without asking any questions.

Can you see why many are not here yet? Because we still want to be in charge. Selah.

Prayer:
I submit myself completely to the Lordship of Christ and I come under his government because it is in your presence i find solace. Amen.

Bible Reference: Acts 9:1-43 (KJV).

Wisdom Capsule:
Proverbs 11:8 (MSG).... *.A good person is saved from much trouble; a bad person runs straight into it.*
