*DEVOTIONAL COMPANION*

*PROVIDE FOR YOUR OWN HOUSE.*

1 Timothy 5:8 (AMPC)...... *If anyone fails to provide for his relatives, and especially for those of his own family, he has disowned the faith [by failing to accompany it with fruits] and is worse than an unbeliever [who performs his obligation in these matters].*

Paul the Apostle in our theme scripture is showing to you and me that there is more than one way we can disown the faith. Walking out of the church or denying Christ openly through your confession is one way, but that is not the only way.

Another way a believer can disown the faith by failing to accompany it with fruits is by not providing for his family and relatives. You and I need to pray and ask God to make us believers with evidence because when your Christianity lacks evidence, then you can’t care for your family.

There are men who sit at home waiting for their wives to come back from work and provide for them. You are only existing but not alive if this is your way of life. Some are quarrelling with their wives for not paying the children’s school fees and utility bills. Some can’t even remember the last time they sent money to their parents.

How can you be comfortable with your kids knowing it is their mother who provides for them? This should bring shame to you. You are not a true believer if you can’t provide for your home. Be wise.

Prayer:
I am a responsible believer and I ask that the Lord will open doors of opportunities for me to have and take care of my home and responsibilities in Jesus name.

Bible Reference: Romans 12:17, 2 Corinthian 8:21, Proverbs 10:1-10.

Wisdom Capsule:
Proverbs 11:17 (MSG)... *..When you’re kind to others, you help yourself; when you’re cruel to others, you hurt yourself.*
