Spiritual Warfare - Part 6 (here's what happened)

God didn't leave the Gentiles off to just do evil. He wanted them to still seek after him. And these sons of God were supposed to do it.
But something bad happened. They turned bad. And this was what Psalm 82 is talking about.
Psalm 82 tells us what happened. “God standeth in the congregation of the mighty (the El).” God, Elohim, singular, Yahweh, stands in the congregation or the assembly of the divine ones.
Here's a divine council meeting. We saw several of those divine council meetings in Sunday school today. Daniel chapter 7, Daniel chapter 4, Job chapter 1 & 2, and First Kings 22:19-21, gives you a wild one. Read that sometime.
And he goes on to say, “He administers, He judgeth amongst the gods, (the Elohim, plural)”. In other words, he administers judgment to them because they deserve to be judged. They didn't do something what they were supposed to. And the next verse tells us what bad things they were doing.
“How long will ye judge unjustly and except the persons of the wicked?” Now he says what they should have been doing. You should have been “defending the poor and fatherless. Do justice to the afflicted and needy. Deliver the poor and needy. Rid them out of the hand of the wicked. They know not. Neither will they understand. They walk on in darkness because of you guys. All the foundations of earth are out of course.”
This isn't what I set you up to do. You're messing things up. Everything's gone crazy.
And then look at the next verse. And this is big. “I have said ye are God's.” (Elohim, plural)
Elohim means a supernatural being. And there's more than one Elohim. Yahweh is an Elohim. But no other Elohim is Yahweh. That is why Yahweh is called the most high God, Elohim. And that's why you see verses that say, "Who's like unto Yahweh?" Nobody. So don't let the word gods or Elohim throw you or scare you. These are gods.
“I have said you are gods. And all of you the are children (or sons) of the most high. But you shall die like men. and fall like one of [or any of ] the princes.”
Now fall like men. You don't say that about a human. You don't turn to a man and say you're going to die like a man. That's just doesn't make sense. So when he says you are gods, he's not talking about a bunch of Jewish guys. He's not calling them [humans] gods. Nor does Jesus call them [the Pharisees] gods in the book of John (chapter 10) when he quotes this verse. They'll die like men.
Well, now that's interesting because up until now, we have no clue that angels will die. Up til now nowhere does it say they're going to die. Angels, I think, as far as we know were supposed to live forever, but now their judgment is pronounced. You're going to die like men.
And how do men die? How do unsaved men die? Where do they go? They go to hell. And then hell gets thrown into the lake of fire. And we're told in the New Testament that the lake of fire was created for who? The devil and his angels [Matt. 25:41]. You guys are going there. Now they're scared.
The Elohim, the principalities and powers are now judged. And their judgment is for sure. That's why when Jesus runs into some of these guys [unclean spirits] in the gospels, they're afraid. Have you come to judge us before the time, they ask. They know it's [their judgement] coming. But they still have some authority and dominion over the gentile nations [the unsaved].
But God ends this Psalm by saying, "Arise, oh God, judge the earth [of these beings]: for thou shalt inherit the nations.”
God is going to take back the nations from the Prinicipalities and Powers!!! (see comments for more info)
