Our Spiritual Warfare - Part 7

But what about the nations? How will God take them back?
Well, God always promised in the Old Testament that he'd bless the nations, bless the Gentiles. They are to be blessed through Abraham's seed. So, He never intended to just forget about them.
And the principalities and powers know this. Hey, wait a minute, We have dominion over the nations . You're going to take them back from me? Oh, no you're not.

I give you some verses in your handout that talk about that God is going to call the nations back into his fold.
Notice Isaiah chapter 60 verse 1-3. It says, "Arise, shine, for thy [Israel's] light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. And the Lord shall rise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee, and the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy coming." The Gentiles will come to God through the rise of Israel through their glory that's bestowed upon them when they accept Messiah.
Genesis 12:3 “And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”
Psalm 2:8 “Ask of me, And I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, And the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.”
Zechariah chapter 8:23 talks about 10 Gentiles will “grab the skirt of a Jew because they heard God is with you.”
Isaiah 2:3 “And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, To the house of the God of Jacob; And he will teach us of his ways, And we will walk in his paths: For out of Zion shall go forth the law, And the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.”
So according to prophecy, the Gentiles were to be re-gathered, redeemed, re-inherited, whatever you will, through Israel's rise, through their acceptance of Messiah. Then they are to go into all the world, to the Gentiles. Isn't that the great commission? Isn't that what Jesus told them to go do? Contingent upon Israel getting saved, Israel as a nation.
Now, a number of people got saved in Acts chapter 2 and 3, but it wasn't the entire nation. The nation as a whole rejected Jesus, rejected their Messiah. And with the stoning of Stephen, they rejected the ministry of the Holy Spirit.
So in the Old Testament, Israel rejected the Father. At Calvary, they rejected His Son. In early chapters of Acts, they reject the Holy Spirit. Their (Israel’s) doom seems complete. They are not going to rise. Their light is not going to be shown upon the Gentiles.
What do you think the principalities and power are thinking? We won!!! We get to keep [their dominion over] the Gentiles. We're going to keep our authority, our power, and we're going to hold on to it. Nothing can stop us now.
