MIRACLE (32) By B.B.John

In Mark 7: 31 – 37, Jesus came to the Sea of Galilee and some people brought a man who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech to Him. The Lord took the man ‘aside from the multitude, and put His fingers into his ears, and He spit, and touched his tongue; looking up to heaven, He sighed, and saith unto him, ‘Ephphatha’ which means ‘Be opened’. Immediately, the man’s ears and tongue were loosed. The man got his miracle - spoke fluently and heard clearly.

In Matthew 9: 32 – 34, certain people brought a dumb, demon possessed man to Jesus Christ. Jesus cast out the devil and the dumb man spoke.

We have another instance in Matthew 12: 22 – 24; the people brought a blind and dumb demon possessed man to Jesus. Jesus cast out the devils and healed the man.

In Matthew 15: 30 – 31, Jesus withdrew to the mountain and great multitudes came to Him, bringing with them all types of physically afflicted folks, including those who were dumb, blind, lame and maimed. The Bible says, they cast all them at Jesus’ feet and He healed them.

REACTIONS

To the miracle of the man healed in Mark 7: 31 – 37, the crowds were so amazed that they said concerning Christ, ‘He has done all things well: He makes both deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak. In Matthew 9: 32 – 34, the multitudes saw the miracles and marveled, saying, ‘It was never so seen in Israel’. The watching crowds in Matthew 12: 22 – 24 were astounded that they asked themselves, ‘Is not this the son of David’. The great multitudes of Matthew 15: 30 – 31were astonished and began to glorify God when they saw the dumb spoke, the blind saw, the maimed whole, and the lame walked.

Conflicting to the people’s positive reactions in all the above instances was the negative reaction of the skeptical Pharisees. Their reaction was that Jesus was casting out devils by the prince of demons – Beelzebub. Indeed, unbelief is a tragedy.

A LESSON FOR US

Fhe miracles discussed above teaches us that certain physical ailments and deformity have demonic root. Dumbness, blindness, deafness and lameness are often caused by evil spirits. Likewise diverse human problems and troubles. Behind several people's health challenge are unclean spirits.

Thus, to deal with the problem, deal with the root. To deal with the effect, first deal with the cause. Once you remove the demonic root to that pestering affliction, your deliverance, healing, and restoration inevitably follow. Let's learn to deal with the root; not the effects. Bind and cast out the operating evil spirits and your miracles will happen.

You're blessed for reading. Have a blessed day and week in Jesus Name.
