Series: Relationship Wisdom
Scripture:
“It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.”
— Psalm 118:8 (KJV)
Devotional Message: Trust Wisely, Love Fully
God calls us to walk in love—but He also calls us to walk in wisdom. Not everyone close to you is safe. Not everyone far from you is a threat. Trust is sacred, and misplacing it can lead to wounds, delays, or destruction.
Even Jesus was betrayed by someone He loved. He didn't stop loving—but He never stopped discerning. His full trust was always in the Father.
God may use former enemies to bless or sharpen you. Paul was once a persecutor of the Church—but God used him mightily. So while we are called to love all, we must not lean blindly on any.
You are called to wise relationships—guided by the Holy Spirit, not by emotions or familiarity.
Are you placing your trust where God didn’t assign it?
Are you wise in who you confide in and build with?
Are you still carrying the hurt of misplaced trust?
Discernment doesn’t mean fear or suspicion. It means letting God lead your heart—so your relationships build you, not break you.
Today’s Reminder:
Love is a command—but trust is earned.
Let the Spirit guide your relationships.
Be kind to all—but anchored in God alone.
Prayer Point:
Lord, help me to love everyone like You do—but trust only as You lead.
Heal every place in me wounded by misplaced trust.
Give me discernment for the people in my life—friends, enemies, or both.
Make me wise, gentle, and anchored in You. Amen.
π£ Declaration of Faith:
I am led by the Spirit in my relationships.
I love fully, but I trust wisely.
I am not naive—I am discerning.
God is my confidence, and He orders my connections.
