THEME: HOW TO KNOW YOU ARE IN THE FLESH
TEXT: Roman 8 vs 5
Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. (NIV)

Just because you are a child of God does not mean you are walking in the Spirit. To walk in the Spirit you must allow the Spirit of God and the word of God to control you. The influence over your life is reflected in your desires and the pursuit of your life.

The flesh is the sinful nature, those who are control by the sinful nature have their minds set on fulfilling its sinful desires. The nature of sin in them controls their appetites, they focused on gratifying desire of the flesh; the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye and the pride of life. A man who lives by flesh can not please God, flesh is an enemy of the God.

A man controlled by Spirit has his mind focused on the how he can please God. When the Spirit is the one controlling you there is a hunger for righteousness, for the word of God and to do what pleases God. You more alive to the Spirit than to the flesh.

CONFESSION
My life is controlled my the Spirit of God and the word God, therefore my mind is set on the things of the Spirit.
