The Story of the Rich Man and Lazarus In Luke 16:19-31, Jesus shares a report of an event, revealing the state of righteous and unrighteous souls who died before His time. This account highlights: - Abraham's Bosom: A designated place for righteous souls, where Lazarus was comforted. - The State of the Dead: The dead are alive to God, even if they're dead to men in the physical realm (Luke 16:25-26). The Imperfection of the Old Covenant It's crucial to note that Abraham, Noah, and other Old Testament saints were not made perfect before us (Hebrews 11:40). They awaited the perfect sacrifice of Jesus Christ to complete their salvation. Jesus: The First to Ascend to Paradise No man had entered paradise before Jesus Christ (John 20:17).
