TEXT: Romans12 vs 2
Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect his will really is. (NLT)
This world has customs and behaviour. As a child of God you are not expected to behave like the people of this world, their behaviour is motivated by the sin nature that controls their life. This can never be a reality in our lives except God transforms us to a new person by the renewing of our minds.
Our lives are not transformed by simply being born again, you must take a step further. You must allow God to change you, we allow God to change us by giving ourselves to God's word. As your mind is transformed by God's word you naturally let go of the behaviours and customers of the world. If this is not done you will be a believer who walks in flesh and not in the Spirit.
The Holy Spirit works well with you when your mind is transformed by God's word, he can easily control you and help you walk in God's will for your life. When your minds is unrenewed it will fight every thing that God speaks to you, it will oppose and block the working of the Holy Spirit in your life.
CONFESSION
I will not copy the behaviours and customers of this world. I allow God through his word and by the power of the Holy Spirit to transform me in to a totally new person.
