Embracing the Resurrected Life

"Death is swallowed up in victory"-
1 Corinthians 15:55
Resurrection gives us a new life, a life that is no longer bound by death. To experience this resurrected life, we must first pass through death, symbolized in baptism (Romans 6:4-5). Jesus said, "Whoever keeps my word will never see death" (John 8:51). For true believers, death is no longer a threat, but a transition to eternal life.
No More Death
As believers, we do not await death; instead, we anticipate the rapture or sleep, when we'll be changed by seeing Jesus (1 Thessalonians 4:14-17). In Christ, death has been swallowed up in victory (1 Corinthians 15:55). We're united with Christ in His death and resurrection, and our old life has been crucified with Him (Romans 6:5-6).
A New Life
Baptism symbolizes our death to the old life and resurrection to a new life in Christ (Romans 6:4-5). We've been crucified to the world, and the world to us (Galatians 6:14). The elements of the world no longer have dominion over us (Colossians 2:20).
Living the Resurrected Life
As resurrected believers, we're waiting for ascension, where we will be changed totally and be like Him (1 John 3:2). Let's embrace this resurrected life, knowing that death is no longer a threat. May we live boldly, knowing that we are victorious in Christ.
Scriptures
John 8:51 - "Whoever keeps my word will never see death."
- Romans 6:4-5 - "We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life."
- 1 Corinthians 15:55 - "Death is swallowed up in victory."
- Romans 6:5-6 - "If we have been united together in the likeness of his death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of his resurrection."
- Galatians 6:14 - "But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world."
