Good morning everyone. Grace and peace be with you.

I am on the countdown. Not for retirement (but that to … haha) but for vacation. My annual three-week shutdown from the post office. The babes are flying over here again this year. (Renewing of the passports was found to be an entertaining experience.) During this round of family time, I have included a cousin's weekend event. My two grandkids here, mixed with my three from across the pond, building forts and having a sleepover extravaganza. I am pretty sure no one in the house will be sleeping, haha. But of course, the menfolk will be at the races that weekend, so they won't be underfoot.

To make this a little bit better for them, I have purchased the real time, earpiece translation doo dads. Two sets. That way each kid gets one bud and hopefully will be able to understand each other. I am anticipating a very interesting and entertaining weekend.

My latest book is in the editing phase. I got all the way through it last night, made a mistake, and now I get to do it all over again. I love a challenge. So much so that I entered a short story competition for this weekend. I do not have enough to do…haha. One funny point about the editing last night, I was in an editing class, and the teacher wrote more chaotically than I do. That is saying something. Haha.

Sitting at my desk, the birds are singing loud and proud. Letting me know that today is going to be a wondiferous day. Even though I woke up the first time around 3 and tossed/turned for two hours…today is going to be awesome.

How can I be so sure? When I left work on Wednesday, there was quite a bit of chaos still in the air. Uncertainty and unfinished business. I have no idea what happened yesterday, because it was my off day and I tended to personal items. However, I choose to make today the best day that I can. Nothing that is going on in the office can change my state of mind as long as I do not allow it to. My complete agenda today is maintain my peace, serve my God, put forward a positive atmosphere and do the best that I can with the tools that I am provided. What the outcome will be is beyond my control.

This is my agenda every day. To be honest, some days my emotions get the best of me, and it does not go as planned. But I do leave my house with the intention of just that…positive attitude, service to God, maintaining peace. When those days arise that one or all these goals are not met, I ask God to pinpoint the exact time that was the catalyst for the fall. I look at it from all the points that I can and seek to tighten my armor in those areas. I am not perfect and many days I fall flat on my face. One day right after the other. It just means that I am human and need Him all the more. A gentle reminder that I cannot do this on my own. That I need Him and his presence in my life…every moment of my life.

When you wake up in the mood that you are going to be on top of the world no matter what, it is like a bat signal to the enemy to knock you down. If he happens to rattle your foothold enough that you trip, then he proceeds to try and keep you there. Don’t let him. Notice the fall and recover through prayer. I went from barely praying ever to multiple prayers throughout the day. (mostly asking Him to forgive me).

Remember, our walk was not meant to silky smooth. It was meant to be full of pitfalls, but it is those pitfalls that make us so much stronger. It is the pitfalls that show the world that they are not in control because we keep getting back up. You are a child of God…you can do all things … when you rely on the Father.

Be blessed today my friends.
