RESURRECTION SUNDAY

THE MORE YOU KNOW, THE MORE YOU CAN BE OF BENEFIT TO OTHERS

And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus - Ephesians 2:6

We have been raised up together with Christ and we’re currently seated in heavenly places at the right hand of the Father. We’ve been paired up with the greatest Being to ever walk this earth. Not only are we together with Him, He also dwells inside us. We have been given the capacity to be like the Lord Jesus Christ in every way. That’s why we can imitate Him and follow His example. When the Lord Jesus Christ was on the earth, He was a very developed individual. By that I mean, He spent time developing Himself so that He could handle the assignment God had given Him. Luke 2:46-47 says, ‘And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions. And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.’ By age twelve, the Lord Jesus Christ was already well-versed in the scriptures in preparation for what’s coming. In other words, He invested in Himself.

Inasmuch as the Lord Jesus Christ came to die for the sins of the world, inasmuch as He came to sacrifice His life on the cross, He also prioritised Himself in preparation for that role. This is the big irony and almost a contradiction of our life in Christ. This is what many Christians have not fully grasped. They understand the need to sacrifice for others, but they have not fully understood the need to put themselves first in terms of their learning and development to be able to help others effectively. In fact, most Christians feel guilty if they are not just fasting, praying, reading the bible, witnessing, and serving at church. As a result, they’re not developed enough to help others effectively. Their relationships suffer because they don’t understand themselves and other people. Their finances suffer because they don’t understand how money works. Their health suffers because they don’t understand how the human body works.

When you’re underdeveloped, you can’t be of much value to those you’re trying to help. Before you can rescue someone who is drowning, you must first know how to swim. How much you can help others is directly linked to how much you know and what you can do. Not all knowledge is in the scriptures. Reading the bible alone is not a sign of spiritual maturity but often fanaticism and foolishness. You have to prioritise your personal development by learning different skills that will make you effective in your mission to help others. People who are a blessing to others are first blessed by God themselves. God blesses us to make us a blessing. You must fist have something before you can to give anything to others. To have something to give, you must first acquire it. Go to school, enrol for a short course, attend seminars and workshops, watch videos online, read books, learn. This is vitally important. We’re headed for a collapse of all things. Not all problems will be solved through prayer. Some solutions will come from the investment you have made in yourself to be of value to others.

CONFESSION

My learning is a priority as I prepare to be of value to others. The more I know, the more I can be a blessing to humanity. Glory to God!
