KARMA IS A COUNTERFEIT OF SOWING & REAPING ( facebook article by Doreen Virtue )

There’s a massive difference between the biblical principle of sowing and reaping and the pagan concept of karma. They may sound similar on the surface, but they come from completely different spiritual sources and only one of them is true.
Karma teaches that your actions determine your destiny across lifetimes: that if you do good, you’ll receive good, and if you do evil, you’ll come back and suffer until your karmic debt is paid off. It’s a cold, impersonal law of the universe that never forgets your faults and offers no forgiveness, no mercy, and no Savior. Karma is the counterfeit justice system of false religions like Hinduism, Buddhism, and New Age spirituality. It is based on works, not grace.
Yet God’s Word teaches something far different. Galatians 6:7 says, “Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.” This isn’t karma, it’s the holy judgment of God. Unlike karma, God’s judgment doesn’t come from an impersonal law of energy, but from a personal, righteous, all-knowing Judge. You’re not being punished by the universe - you’re standing accountable before your Creator.
Yet here’s the hope: where karma demands payment, Jesus already paid the price.
You’re not trapped in an endless cycle of reincarnation and spiritual debt. You don’t need to balance your energy, pay off your past life mistakes, or come back in another form. Jesus Christ took the punishment for your sin on the cross, so that instead of reaping eternal wrath, you can reap eternal life through repentance and faith in Him.
The principle of sowing and reaping remains true for everyone including Christians. We still experience consequences for our choices in this life. Yet, unlike ‘karma,’ sowing and reaping operates within the context of our personal relationship with God. And in Christ and God’s Word, we receive grace, mercy, wisdom, and strength to sow in the Spirit instead of in the flesh.
So if you’ve believed in karma or spoken about “sending good vibes” or “manifesting good energy,” please repent and believe in the life, death, and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ came to earth as fully God and fully man. He was the only one to live a sinless life, and He willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins. He physically rose from the dead three days later, defeating death and offering eternal life to all who repent and believe in Him. You’re not saved by good works, spiritual rituals, or self-effort, but by God’s grace through faith in Jesus alone. If you’re weary, lost, or searching for truth, have faith in Christ: He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him.
Karma is a counterfeit. Jesus Christ is the Truth.
