Good morning everyone. Grace and peace be with you.

In these competitions that I do, the prompts are almost so far-fetched that you have to stretch your imagination. To which, that is the point. None of them have ever produced five stories for me to choose from to submit … until now. The short story competition that I submitted for this weekend did just that. God gave me five separate stories for these prompts. It was wild. My beta readers, I think, were ready for me to stop. Haha. However, that is not the end of it, there is a new Novel 90 contest coming up in October that I have joined…God is pressing on my heart to use the prompts from this weekend’s 250-word challenge and turn them into a book.

This is a first. It is actually really exciting to see how He will use the short story contest prompts and turn them into a full-length book. The ideas are rushing through my mind as we speak …

The last few days have been a whirlwind. Going to our son’s house to help with repairs after working all day on Saturday. Writing Sunday morning, the first three stories for this contest. Beautiful scenery to drive in back home. Then my husband’s illness becoming a medical concern. Two days of trying to figure out my next steps.

Then…last night, while texting with a friend about a video I sent her, I replayed the very first line… “God did not ask you to figure it all out.” Talk about an eye opener. It was the first time I heard it and again last night. Me being a fixer, I need to hear that a lot.

Sometimes I get so lost in the situation that I fail to realize that I am not in control. Sometimes the optics of it in front of me overpowers my faith in the Father’s plan. Sometimes, I need that Denozo slap to come back to reality.

What about you?

Has that ever been an issue with you, where you forget that God is in charge and you try to take the wheel from him? Or is that just a me thing?

Although the visual of my life seems to be a chaotic mess (to be fair, I think it is), the fact remains that everything that is happening is for a purpose. An opportunity to grow. An opportunity to plant. An opportunity to share. An opportunity to Love.

I probably do spend too much time in the land of video content, but when I need a good come-to-Jesus Denozo slap…He provides.

Be blessed today my friends.
