BECOMING A CHANNEL OF HIS GOODNESS
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
— Matthew 5:16 (KJV)
You Are Blessed to Be a Blessing
God’s blessings were never meant to stop with you—they are meant to flow through you. When God pours His goodness into your life, it is not just to benefit you, but to make you a vessel, a carrier, and a dispenser of His love and mercy to the world around you.
Abraham is a clear example. God told him in Genesis 12:2,
“I will bless thee… and thou shalt be a blessing.”
This is the divine pattern: We receive to release. We are filled to overflow.
Channels, Not Containers
Many believers live like containers—holding on to every blessing, miracle, or breakthrough for personal consumption. But kingdom-minded believers are channels, allowing God’s goodness to pass through them.
When you become a channel of God’s goodness:
• Others encounter God through your kindness.
• Your life becomes a reflection of God’s heart.
• Your blessings are multiplied because God trusts you with more.
Ways to Channel God's Goodness
1. Acts of Kindness
o Share food with the hungry, visit the sick, comfort the grieving.
o “He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord…” (Proverbs 19:17)
2. Forgiveness and Mercy
o As God has forgiven you, forgive others.
o Release those who have wronged you and free yourself from bitterness.
3. Financial Giving and Support
o Tithe, give offerings, support missions, help the needy.
o “Give, and it shall be given unto you…” (Luke 6:38)
4. Encouragement and Counsel
o Speak life to the discouraged. Share your testimony.
o Be someone’s reminder that God is still good.
5. Mentorship and Discipleship
o Help raise others by teaching, guiding, and walking with them.
o Jesus invested in twelve; you can invest in someone too.
The Reward of Becoming a Channel
Proverbs 11:25 says,
“The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.”
When you refresh others, God refreshes you. The more you give, the more room you make for God to pour more into your life. When your life becomes an extension of God’s goodness, He takes delight in using you to touch others.
Guarding Your Motives
We don’t channel God’s goodness for applause or attention. Our motive must be love, compassion, and a desire to glorify God.
Jesus warned in Matthew 6 not to give, pray, or fast for human approval. What you do in secret, your Father will reward openly.
Let your giving be sincere. Let your kindness be quiet. Let your light shine without shouting.
Reflection
Have you become a container or a channel? Who around you is benefiting from the goodness of God in your life? Are you using your resources, testimony, and influence to make God known?
Remember: You are not just blessed to be happy—you are blessed to be impactful.
Prayer Points
1. Father, make me a channel of Your love, mercy, and provision to others.
2. Lord, forgive me for hoarding blessings instead of sharing them.
3. Use me to meet the needs of others and reveal Your heart to the hurting.
4. I receive the grace to be generous, compassionate, and selfless.
5. Holy Spirit, lead me daily to those who need a touch of God’s goodness through me.
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
