MIRACLE (43) By B.B.John
The third appearance of Jesus to His disciples after His resurrection, which happened at the sea Galilee, brought the second miracle of Big Catch of fishes. (John 21: 1- 14.)
There are six lessons for us to learn from this miracle:
1ST LESSON:
"Effort invested in a business done outside God's purpose is an effort meat for the waste bin of life."
After the death of Jesus, Peter and some disciples went back to fishing. The had labored but caught nothing all night. They were still fishing that morning when Jesus appeared on the shore.
2ND LESSON
"Christ's appearance on the scene of ur lives, He always come with a word we need for our miracles."
When they saw the man standing on the shore, they didn't recognize He's the resurrected Christ. Then He gave them the word and the miracle happened.
"And He said to them, cast the net on the right side of the boat and you will find some..." (vs. 6a)
The word is all they needed to end their hours of futility. They did as instructed and caught multitude of fish - 153 large fish.
3RD LESSON
"Miracle is the footprint of Christ. When miracles happen; know that Jesus is the One at work. No one else does it but Him!"
The moment the miracle occured, John the Beloved recognized it was Jesus and told Peter, "It is the Lord!" When Peter heard it was Jesus, he put on his garment and plunged into the river, swimming to Jesus. But other disciples entered a little boat, dragging the net with fish.
4TH LESSON:
"What we've long been laboring for is already made available for us by Christ Jesus!"
When the disciples got to Jesus on the shore, they saw another miracle - bread and fishes on a fire of coals:
"Then, as soon as they had come to the land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid on it and bread." (John 21: 9)
What you travelled to the far-far country to get might be inside your pocket.
5TH LESSON
"Jesus is still asking us to bring to Him some of the miraculous blessings He gave to us."
As the disciples were wondering where Jesus got the fish and bread laid on fire, Jesus asked them to bring some of the fish they just caught. Peter went and dragged all the 153 fish to Jesus. (vs.10 -11)
Let's be like Peter, dragging it all to Him to take which and all that He loves.
6TH LESSON
"A breakfast with Jesus is the most delicious we will ever had."
After Peter dragged the 153 fish to His feet, Jesus gave them an invitation to breakfast, saying, "Come and Eat breakfast." They all honored His invitation and He gave them bread and fish. What a delicious breakfast!
Do you always have a breakfast with Jesus every morning? The invitation is still on and you also can honor it by observing your quiet time with Jesus every morning, through spiritual worship, prayer and personal Bible study.
