This was from my morning Bible reading devotional from Proverbs and comments by me.
Proverbs 14:20-21 (KJV) The poor is hated even of his own neighbour: but the rich hath many friends.
He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth: but he that hath mercy on the poor, happy is he.
These verses me a lot to me since I was homeless from the ages of 18-32 and I was a vagabond and a unproductive part of society. But then in 2003 I met my wife and got off the streets, and it was the way my wife treated me with the same love that we should treat one another. But a lot of people in society hate the homeless and treat them like they are dirt and weren't there at all, but there were church groups in some of the bigger city's that came and feed the homeless, and it really hurts my heart to see the way that the homeless are treated. So the next time you see a homeless person or family please be kind and approach them and if you are lead to help them out but not with money because some of them buy cigarettes or alcohol, so buy them some food, or clothes and toiletires, but what they really need is prayer. So just remember some of the homeless are there because of bad luck not because they wanted to be there. Because Jesus love and helped the poor he feed them with spiritual food and healed them so we need to treat the homeless like we want to be treated if we were homeless with love and kindness.
