A Living Hope
1 Peter 1:3-10 NKJV Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,
who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time,
In this you greatly rejoice though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials,
that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,
whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory,
receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls.
Of this salvation the prophets have inquired and searched carefully, who prophesied of the grace that would come to you.
Hope is in Heaven
Colossians 1:3-6 We give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,
since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of your love for all the saints;
because of the hope which is laid for you in heaven, of which you heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel,
which has come to you, as it has also in all the world, and is bringing forth fruit, as it is also among you since the day you heard and knew the grace of God in truth.
Hope that doesn't disappoint-Abraham had it
Romans 4:17-18 (as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations) in the presence of Him, whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did,
who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, So shall your descendants be.
Romans 4:23-25 Now it was not written for his sake alone that it was imputed to him,
but also for us. It shall be imputed to us who believe in Him who raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead,
who was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification.
