YOUTH SATURDAY
A DIFFERENT COMPANY OF YOUNG PEOPLE
Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king's word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God – Daniel 3:28
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were young Hebrew captives in Babylon. When they refused to bow before the king’s statue, he ordered that they be burned alive. However, God sent an Angel, some say it was the Lord Himself, to protect them from the fiery furnace. They came out of the fire with no burns, their clothes intact, and with no smell of smoke.
This is how God will use young people during the Great Persecution. At this time, the Church will be captives under the government of the Antichrist. Like Nebuchadnezzar, he’ll command the world to commit the sin of idolatry by worshiping him and bowing before his statue. However, we’ll have a company of young people who’ll refuse to bow.
They’d rather die than break the Commandments of the Lord Jesus Christ. These are not youths who are in it for the soft life. They’re not part-time Christians who’re living their best life. They’re not like the young people of today who’re so weak, any adversity leads to mental illness. They’re Disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ who’ll follow their Lord to the Cross. They know the Cross to be an Altar which consumes its Sacrifice by Fire.
PRAYER
Father in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I pray that like the three Hebrew boys, I may rise when others fall. May I stand for the Cause of Christ and not bow to the pressures of intimidation and fear. Amen.
