Good morning everyone. Grace and peace be with you.
This weekend was a complete success. The boys had a great trip to the races. We had a grand play date. The cousins learned a lot about each other and how to communicate without knowing how to communicate. God was definitely with my family this weekend.
On my drive home yesterday from taking the littles back home, I was catching up on my devotions. Several lessons struck me, but one sentence really lit up my thoughts …
If God were to be a witness at your trial, what would he say about you?
Not the judge. Not the jury. But a witness. What would he say about you?
As I was driving, thinking about this question, I began to replay the most recent day’s events. I began to evaluate them in the context that if I were on trial and the prosecutor called God, what kind of witness would he be about my activities, my demeanor, my presentation of the truth, about me in general? Those memories looking not so bad, I expanded my search and found some questionable areas … grey areas …
To be honest, I do not remember much about that lesson except for that question and my response. Even as I share this idea with you, my mind is all over the place about this question.
From my perspective, I know that I have areas that need to be better, but they seem to be the same areas that have needed to be better for a long time. Maybe that is the message that He was giving me … “My witness for you is that you are still doing your thing instead of My thing in these areas. You need to tidy up.”
Take a moment today and look at your walk. Are there areas in your life that need to be more Christ-like? What kind of witness would the Father be if he were called to testify? That is a bit scary, don’t you think?
Be blessed today my friends.
***Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes. Immediately they received their sight and followed him.—Matthew 20:34
