1 Thessalonians 5:16-22 Exploring NKJV

1 Thessalonians 5:16-22 Rejoice always,

pray without ceasing,

in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Do not quench the Spirit.

Do not despise prophecies.

Test all things; hold fast what is good.

Abstain from every form of evil.

2 Corinthians 6:4-10 But in all things we commend ourselves as ministers of God; in much patience, in tribulations, in needs, in distresses,

in stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labors, in sleeplessness, in fasting;

by purity, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Spirit, by sincere love,

by the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armor of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,

by honor and dishonor, by evil report and good report; as deceivers, and yet true;

as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold we live; as chastened, and yet not killed;

as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

Ephesians 6:17-18 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;

praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints–

1 Thessalonians 4:1-5 Finally then, brethren we urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus that you should abound more and more, just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God;

for you know what commandments we gave you through the Lord Jesus.

For this is the will of God, your sanctification; that you should abstains from sexual immortality;

that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor,

not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God:

1 Peter 2:15-17 For this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men–

as free, yet not using liberty as a cloak for vice, but as bond-servants of God.

Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.

1 John 4:1-3 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

By this you know the Spirit of God; Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God,

and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.

Philippians 4:8-9 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworty–meditate on these things.

The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.
