The Enemy’s First Strategy: Confusion of Identity

From the very beginning, Satan’s strategy has been to question identity. In Eden, he asked Eve, “Did God really say…?” and in the wilderness, he tested Jesus with, “If You are the Son of God…” (Luke 4:3). The enemy knows that once we doubt who we are in Christ, we lose the confidence to stand firm. A confused church is a powerless church.

Today, many Christians struggle with identity — measuring their worth by social media, possessions, or other people’s approval. But our value doesn’t come from these things; it comes from God’s Word that declares we are chosen, redeemed, and sealed by the Holy Spirit (Eph. 1:13–14). The victory begins when we silence the enemy’s lies and believe what God has already spoken.

Scripture: “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are.” – 1 John 3:1
