Good morning everyone. Grace and peace be with you.
Can you tell when you are walking the right path? Or. Can you tell when the enemy is afraid?
Two very similar and interesting questions. Both equally important.
As you know, I enter writing contests. My biggest endeavor to date is to write, edit and prepare for publication in 90 days.
The story came rather quickly. Then the first round of edits and bettering the story. The next step was grammar and punctuation edits. I was about a third of the way through the first time, when I deleted all my edits … gone.
It took me nearly a month to get back into the editing phase in my mind. However, yesterday the kids went to town for family time. I used that time to really put forth the effort in editing. My goal was to have it completely edited and moved over to the submission area before they got home. I did accomplish this. Through the trials and tantrums of my printer and computer, I finished it. Moved it. All the while saving it like every 5 minutes to be safe.
After closing out the document, I wanted to look at something and … guess what … it was gone. This has happened before, so I did a search on my computer … nothing. Tried a few other searches … no file found.
By now my temper is rising. I know it is there. It is safe, because it is on the submission platform, but that was not the point. Where is the story?
When the kids got home, I told our son about my issue. He is a computer geek. He said, ‘do you want me to find it’, I am like ‘ please’ … 45 seconds … if that and he had my document saved to my desktop.
The enemy through several obstacles in my way while writing this story. Procrastination being the biggest one, then my OCD to make the perfect story, then my doubt that it was only ‘this many words’. Add to that family days, work, normal responsibilities, and mental exhaustion from all. But yesterday I finished it … then because he knows it is powerful, he tried to hide it from me so that I could not use it. Knowing my temper, he was hoping that I would give up and leave it hidden.
With all the nonsense that has come about with this book, I know it is 150 percent of God. I also know that the enemy does not want it out. WE beat the enemy by remembering who saved us and trusting in His processes.
When you are on the right path, it feels like every annoyance known to man is thrown at you. People who want to distract you. Equipment failure. Deadline switches. But it is in those times that we evaluate what we are doing, see the blessings of the Holy Spirit, then stand on His promises that He is always with us. You will know without a doubt that it is Him, by the fruit it produces along the way.
Whatever the path is that you are walking now, go to Him and voice your concerns and aggravations. Pray over the situation and trust in what you see Him providing before you. Then, kick the enemy in the head and march on. Do not allow his annoyances to halt your progress and blessings.
Be blessed today my friends.
***For you have been my hope, O Sovereign Lord, my confidence since my youth. From birth I have relied on you; you brought me forth from my mother’s womb. I will ever praise you. – Psalm 71:5-6
