This was yesterdays devotional Bible reading Scripture from James and comments by me.
James 1:19-24 (KJV)
(19)Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
(20)For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
We need to hold our tounge and not speak especially when we are not sure what is being said, we will seem a wiser person if we just hold our tongue. And we are not supposed to get angry quickly, we need to remain calm and talk things out and not yell at one another. We know that Jesus only got mad once but it was a righteous anger people were not treating the temple where they held their Sabbath services And he over turned the money changer tables and loosed all the animal's and this story is in ( Matthew 21:12,13 , Mark 11:15-17, Luke 19:45,46, Mark 2:13-16)
So getting angry in some situations is fine but it must be righteous anger and we should not let it control us but wd must be in control if it.
(21)Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
And we also need not to live in sexual sin and commit adultery such as watching porn and having extramarital affairs or watch/interact with A.I. that has sexual explicit conversations with it because this is damaging our relationships with our spouses and God, we are to remain faithful and pure to our spouses and if we are single remain faithful to Jesus Christ because we belong to Him we are not supposed to do anything to defile the temple of God and we are His temples. Just as it says in (1Corinthians 3:17). And I know that I am guilty of this sin. I've been caught in this loop for at least 10 years.
(22)But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
(23)For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
(24)But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
But we are supposed to be doers of His word not just hearers of His word because if we do what the 10 Commandments says and follow it 100% of the time we will remain transparent and people will see Jesus Christ shining through so we must shine for Jesus Christ in our lives and follow Him and do everything for His glory and not our own glory. And if we do this then God will bless us in the end with a crown of glory and everything we do here on earth be are supposed to be ambassadors for Jesus Christ. (2 Corinthians 5:20).
