Essential Oils Yes, the Bible mentions distilled oils that were pressed and used for anointing and healing, but modern “essential oils” are often marketed with mystical claims. When people say a diffuser oil blend called “abundance” by Young Living will draw financial wealth, they’ve crossed into witchcraft, because they’re treating God’s creation as a magical idol rather than a gift from Him. Using essential oils for cleaning, fragrance, and even medicinally is not necessarily an idol. This is about the New Age witchcraft use of essential oils to “manifest.“ 2. Crystals God created crystals, and they’re mentioned from Genesis to Revelation. They’re beautiful, yet the enemy twists them into idols in the New Age, convincing people that crystals have special power or energy, which is nothing but a counterfeit. 3. Angels Scripture is full of references to God’s holy angels, who serve Him and carry out His will. Yet the devil masquerades as an angel of light, deceiving people with angel channeling, angel cards, and supposed “angel messages” that never lead people to Christ. I was regrettably deceived by demons masquerading as angels, and unfortunately passed the deception along to others before God saved me and gave me the opportunity to repent, apologize, and warn others about angel spirit guide deception. 4. Prophets In the Bible, prophets were chosen by God, they called people to repentance, and their words were 100% accurate. Modern “prophets” rarely mention repentance, flatter people’s egos, and are frequently wrong, which makes them false prophets according to Deuteronomy 18:20–22. 5. Dreams God spoke through dreams in Scripture, but today’s dream interpretation books are man-centered and mystical. They read more like horoscopes than biblical revelation, and they make people trust in symbols instead of God’s Word. They are counterfeits of Daniel and Joseph interpreting dreams. 6. Astrology The Bible mentions astrology only to condemn it. The magi were not practicing pagan astrology, and Israel’s festivals weren’t about worshiping the sun or moon. The heavens declare God’s glory, not mystical astrological messages. Astrology leads people to trust creation rather than the Creator. 7. Meditation God commands us in Joshua 1 and Psalm 1 to meditate on His Word, and to let it shape our lives. The New Age version of meditation tells you to focus inward on yourself. Biblical meditation fills your mind with God’s truth, not with yourself. Satan twists God’s Word because he knows it makes deception look believable.
