And Moses and Aaron gathered the assembly together before the rock; and he said to them, “Hear now, you rebels! Must we bring water for you out of this rock?” Then Moses lifted his hand and struck the rock twice with his rod; and water came out abundantly, and the congregation and their animals drank. Then the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, “Because you did not believe Me, to hallow Me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them.”
Numbers 20:10–12 (NKJV)

Thought Of The Day...
Moses was one of the greatest leaders in all of Scripture. Yet in this moment at Meribah, even he failed to honor God properly before the people. Instead of speaking to the rock as God commanded, he struck it in anger and frustration. In doing so, Moses misrepresented the holiness and character of God to Israel.
This moment teaches us an important truth: our actions and attitudes can either glorify God or misrepresent Him. Moses’ words—“Must we bring you water…”—shifted the focus from God’s power to his own effort. His anger overshadowed God’s mercy. The result was severe: Moses was not permitted to lead the people into the Promised Land.
As believers, we are God’s representatives in our homes, workplaces, and communities. When we respond in anger, pride, or self-reliance, we risk sending the wrong message about who God is. People see God through us, and that is both a great privilege and a great responsibility.
God desires that we honor Him not only with our lips but also in our obedience, humility, and trust. Misrepresenting Him—even unintentionally—can have lasting consequences. But by walking in the Spirit, we can reflect His grace, patience, and holiness to those around us.

Prayer...
Heavenly Father,
We thank You for being a God of mercy, grace, and holiness. Lord, we confess that there have been times when we have acted out of frustration, pride, or self-reliance, and in doing so we have misrepresented You to others. Forgive us for the moments when our words were harsh, our actions unkind, or our attitudes dishonoring to Your name.
Teach us to honor You in every situation with obedience, patience, and humility. Help us to reflect Your love in our homes, our workplaces, and in every relationship. Guard our hearts from anger and remind us that people are watching not just what we say, but how we live. May our lives point others to Your goodness and faithfulness.
Fill us with Your Spirit, Lord, so that when challenges come, we respond with faith instead of fear, with peace instead of frustration, and with grace instead of pride. Let everything we do be for Your glory. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
