Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.
Today is designed to be a quiet day. Hanging out at the house and goofing off here. The boys intend to work in the shop, and us kids will do kid things…like walk to the creek and take rides on the schneller (ATV). Our dog made a new friend this morning; the neighbor’s cat has apparently made us his new home. I won't be a bit surprised if I find that cat in the play pen with the dog. Just saying.
Last night was my favorite meal night, Jaeger Schnitzel with Spaetzle. (Pork cutlet with German-style gravy and German noodles) Yes, I did the photo thing and sent it to my kids, who in fact told me I was mean. Why, yes, I am. Haha.
The last couple of nights, I have picked fights with our added guest. First it was a spatula sword fight in the kitchen. Then it was the poke the ribs and run fight. Then we had ‘don’t jump’ fight when we were not looking. You know…my inner child came out. By the time she went to bed last night, she was worried that I would truly sneak into her room and play this little piggie went to market with her bare feet. Haha.
I was a little concerned about the language barrier between our extra guest and us. Then when the translating headphones did not work as planned, I was worried that it would be a long vacation of difficulty. But those concerns and worries were short lived. God provided us an avenue of communication…that of Love.
There is a reason that He tells us to come to him as a child. Children have open hearts and minds. They are sponges. They key in on the atmosphere of a situation and adapt. If you are hurting, they have compassion. If you are struggling, they want to help. If you are down, they lift you up. Children ‘know’ without knowing. Such is the case between my house guest and myself. Love surpasses all boundaries. Playful and welcoming unconditional love. Though the words are a mystery … the heartfelt aroma of the time is very much present.
When you are in a situation where there is a language barrier, even if the core language is the same … the words are unknown, or the understanding is difficult … rely on His Love to guide you through and help with the communication. Persistence in unwavering stamina to beat the enemy at this game.
The enemy thinks that if we cannot physically understand each other, he can keep us divided. But if you remember, in Acts, when the disciples received the Holy Spirit, they were understood by everyone … in all languages. The power of Love surpasses all-natural understanding.
Be blessed today my friends.
***All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. – Acts 2:4
