Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.
As per my normal, I do not host a boring life. Yesterday involved an ATV accident where myself and my granddaughter were injured … minor injuries, turns out … thankfully. In the end, being fat is a blessing because it created extra cushion for my hip, adding to that the rain we have had softened the field where we landed. Cushion upon cushion. The best we can tell is that my granddaughter played super woman and took out some corn with her nose and scraped her knee. We were about a quarter mile from the house, and she ran for help … the entire distance.
She found her dad and Opa. They both came out to the sight and by then I was standing and moving. We now compare my sight as a zombie from the Walking Dead or my attempt to be one of the Children of the Corn. In the process of this adventure, my glasses flew off and I figured I would be blind for another week until new ones came in. Fast forward, glasses were found … a little bent, but now they fit even better. So being warped is not a bad thing.
On the way to the doctor to be checked out … precautionary for both of us, my stepson and I had a very heartfelt conversation. He explained his heart and where he believed that God had a purpose for this accident. Then I shared that we were on the same train, but my belief was that the enemy was trying to derail our family train. My son said well, if that is the case, he failed. We are even stronger now. The warmth that filled my heart at that time, to overflowing; I do not know how to explain other than God looked down at Satan and said, “Didn’t you try this with Job and failed?” or “I told you so, when are you going to start listening?”
I was in bed by 8 and asleep around 9. The littles were in by 730 and probably asleep by 731. Haha.
There were many emotions that ran through my head at the time of the accident. Though I sent her to get help, I was not sure I really did that, then wandered where she ended up. How was mom and dad going to react? Was she okay? I honestly did not care if my lower half fell off, as long as she was okay. Did I lose ‘her’ trust for failing to protect her? What kind of an idiot was I for not better keeping her safer? I am the grown-up…it is MY job to protect her. And a plethora of other not-so-nice and very dividing thoughts. I could not let go of the fact that I failed her. And that ate at my core. I finally and truly felt that we were an unstoppable force of a family of overcoming adversity and challenge, then this. Was this accident going to cause a larger divide than what we started with years ago? All valid and adrenaline-enflamed thoughts. The enemy taking full advantage of this opportunity.
In the middle of this initial melt down of emotions, my daughter-in-law reassured me that it was just an accident. That my granddaughter was walking and talking and it was okay. First boost of Love. Conversation started by my stepson, second boost of Love. Cuddle time with games from my accident partner, Icing on the Cake Love.
My friends, I am living proof that if you truly believe that God is God. The Alpha and the Omega. The one in control. All things are possible. Peace is yours for the taking.
This accident could very well have ended in so many worse ways, yet God never left our side. We are a little bruised and achy, but our family love is stronger than ever. Trust in the One who created you. He is faithful.
Be blessed today my friends.
