Let us fix our eyes on the Father and Creator of the whole world and hold fast to His excellent gifts of peace and love. Let us contemplate His purposes in creation and consider how free from all anger He is towards His creatures. The moon and stars move in harmony, as He has ordered; day and night follow the course fixed by Him without hindering each other. The earth teems with all kinds of creatures and gives food in abundance for all as He has ordained. The sea is gathered in the places He has chosen and does not break through the shore and flood the dry land. The seasons of spring, summer, autumn, and winter give way to one another in peace. The winds blow from north, east, south, and west as He calls them, and springs of water break through the rocks to supply drink for animals and men. God in all His creation witted that there should be perfect peace and concord. And when mankind fell into sin, bringing conflict and misery, He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to restore peace.
