This is from my devotional Bible reading Scripture are from Joshua, 1Peter, 1Corinthisns, 2 Corinthians, and Ephesians, and comments by me.
1 Peter 3:1-7 (KJV)
(1)Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;
(2)While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear.
(3)Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
(4)But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
(5)For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:
(6)Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.
(7)Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
All who are married have heard the phrase "happy wife happy life" and that saying is so true. Men need to treat there wives with love, honor, respect, and they should cherish there wives and treat them like the queens that they are. I know that I have failed this test in many ways and in my past and lately thing are looking a little bit better. I show her the respect she deserves, and that doesn't mean I am perfect by any means, I still have trouble with me not interrupting her when she's reading or typing a message on her phone, and I'm trying to do better. And not all women are weaker then the man because in our marriage Pamela is stronger in every way then I am. And wives you should treat there husbands with the same love and respect that there husbands treat you with. And we should be equally yoked to each other. And bonded to one another just as it says Jesus should be the lead person in our marriage. And the man should be the head of the house hold but now some women are running the house sach as finance.
1 Corinthians 11:3 (KJV) But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
Ephesians 5:23 (KJV) For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
2 Corinthians 6:14 (KJV) Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
In other words we should be as strong as the other and have the same interest, likes and dislikes, but mainly we should be on the same level as our spouses with your walk with God and love Him more then we love ourselves, and we still need to love each others unconditional. And we should put God first in our marriage. We should do our devotions, Bible reading and praying together as a family and if you have children involve then in the same activities that you do. And just remember what it says in Joshua 24:15 "as for me and my house we will serve the Lord.
