Romans 15:1 Exploring CSB

Pleasing others, not Ourselves

Romans 15:1 Now we who are strong have an obligation to bear the weaknesses of those without strength, and not to please ourselves.

Carry One another's Burdens

Galatians 6:1-2 Brothers and sisters, if someone is overtaken in any wrongdoing, you who are spiritual, restore such a person with a gentile spirit, watching out for yourselves so that you also won't be tempted.

Carry one another's burdens; in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

Galatians 6:4-5 Let each person examine his own work, and then he can take pride in himself alone, and not compare himself with someone else.

For each person will have to carry his own load.

God's Righteous Judgement

Romans 2:1-11 Therefore, every one of you who judges is without excuse. For when you judge another, you condemn yourself, since you, the judge, do the same things.

We know that God's judgement of those who do such things is based on the truth.

Do you really think--anyone of you who judges those who do such things yet do the same--that you will escape God's judgement?

Or do you despise the riches of his kindness, restraint, and patience, not recognizing that God's kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?

Because of you hardened and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourselves in the day of wrath, when God's righteous judgment is revealed.

He will repay each one according to his works,

eternal life to those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor, and immortality;

but wrath and anger to those who are self-seeking and disobey the truth and obeying unrighteousness.

There will be affliction and distress for every human being who does evil, first to the Jew, and also to the Greek;

but glory, honor and peace for everyone who does what is good, first to the Jew, and also for the Greek.

For there is no favoritism with God.

Ephesians 4:25-28 Therefore, putting away lying, speak the truth, each one to his neighbor, because we are members of one another.

Be angry and not sin. Don't let the sun go down on your anger,

and don't give the devil an opportunity.

Let the thief no longer steal. Instead, he is to do honest work with his own hands, so that he has something to share with anyone in need.

1 Thessalonians 5:14-15 And we exhort you, brothers and sisters; warn those who are idle, comfort the discouraged, help the weak, be patient with everyone.

See to it that no one repays evil for for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good for one another and for all.
