Saint Sabina was a wealthy Roman noblewoman martyred for her Christian faith around 126 AD, after being converted by her Syrian slave, Serapia. Serapia was executed first, and Sabina subsequently became a public Christian, suffering martyrdom in Rome and being buried alongside Serapia. After Christianity was legalized, a basilica was built over her home on Rome's Aventine Hill, now known as Santa Sabina, and her feast day is celebrated on August 29
