The God Who Heals

Scripture

> “If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.”
— Exodus 15:26 (NKJV)

Jehovah Rapha—The Lord Who Heals

After the crossing of the Red Sea, Israel came to bitter waters at Marah. God healed the water so they could drink, and then He gave them this promise: if they obeyed His commands, He would be their healer and protector.

Here, God introduces Himself as Jehovah Rapha—the Lord who heals. His healing extends beyond physical sickness to include:

Spiritual healing—restoring us from sin through His forgiveness (Psalm 103:3).

Emotional healing—binding up the brokenhearted (Psalm 147:3).

Physical healing—bringing strength and health according to His will.

This verse reminds us that God’s healing is tied to relationship. As we walk in obedience and trust, His presence becomes our source of wholeness.

Reflection Questions

1. Do I trust God not only as my Savior but also as my Healer?

2. In what area of my life—spiritually, emotionally, or physically—do I need God’s healing touch today?

3. Am I walking in obedience so that I can experience the fullness of His promises?

Prayer

Jehovah Rapha, thank You for being the Lord who heals me. I bring every area of brokenness before You today—my heart, my body, and my soul. Heal me where I am weak, restore me where I am hurting, and strengthen me to walk in obedience to Your word. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
